Since nobody else said the obvious....

Good news: no more provincial elections for four or five years. Bad news - the Parti Quebecois did well enough to be taken seriously again. Where is Andre Boisclair when you need him? The reason for the surprisingly strong showing by Enemies of the Canadas: It was cold. Old people who vote for the Liberals didnt want to go outside to vote. Hairy cegep students were less intimidated by the weather. Anybody over 60 years old should be allowed to vote by phone or something, that way the pesky radicals can be kept out of power forever.

Well, of course, rhodesians (those who think they are better just because they are being english) do not understand that they are a tiny minority, and that the majority wants the minority to stop thinking they are entitled to run things, so they are bound to decry when the majority is taking it’s rightful power back.

Let’s not be mistaken: the liberals did so well only because there are still plenty of colonized people who still believe that they are shit because the english have been saying so for more than 2 centuries, and vote accordingly.

Yes, Rhodesians. Look how well things turned out in Zimbabwe once they got rid of the Rhodesians.

Look how well Quebec has done since its acid-tongued PQ devils scared away its own "Rhodesians."

This place is a third world backwater now.

Wow. What century are we living in? It is sad and pathetic when the insecurity of certain people is so intense that they continue to pick on the now-disabled and disrespected, marginalized minority.

That said, how can the English-speaking minority -the community that is far more diverse and open than the French-speaking community - be accused of looking down on the French? Do you live in the 21st century Quebec/Montreal? Really? The fact that you still consider yourself to be colonized is likely the root of your insecurity. (Note: you are not native to the land - you are colonizers too a**hole)

It is time to get over it. No one living today has any connection to the battle of the Plains of Abraham. Do not call English-speaking Quebecers Rhodesians either. It is offensive to say the very least. If the PQ doesn't start to speak to people other than pure-laine Francophones in the political discourse, the PQ's grasp on power will be precarious in the years to come.
