The fabulous Carifiesta rolled down Dorch today. Very cool vibe. Those of us who are big fans of flags got a nice eyeful of flags. So today's Coolopolis quiz is: link the people to their countries. List on the side of the image. Good luck!
I really noticed the shortness of the parade this year. Though again, I was impressed by the group that had no truck, but had drummers and then the dancers were more choreographed.
As for the slowness, "Community COntact" had an article ahead of time saying the route was shortened by the city. That did have people worried, you can arrive late and catch up, but if it's not going very far, there isn't that much time to catch up.
I assume that caused the decision tohave the parade stop in front of Dorchester Square to perform for the judges. Slow the parade down so people can catch up.
But of course, it slowed everything down, a stop and start motion. Yes it was nice to see the entries for a longer period, but it got tedious waiting. And i was right at a corner so all I saw was a gap between sections.
Its an odd feeling, watching people out and suddenly they all seem to know each other. I wouldn't automatically assume they did, yet it's kind of neice to see people who seem to know a bunch of people who pass by.
