All hands on deck - Montreal's great booby grab craze

A friend of Coolopolis named "don't use my name" who works in a downtown bar sent this photo collage our way.

He sent this note, which we edited for reasons of legibility. "You used to never see cameras. Now flashbulbs are going off all night. When they get drunk they grab each others by the chest. You see this every day."

So this trendspotter confirmed that it's the new normal by collecting photos of local women on facebook caught in the act.

So the boobygrab is the new drunken handshake in Montreal. We not sure of its legality or the proper etiquette or decorum involved in laying one of these on someone. Like don't do it to strangers on the metro. Try to get a written consent first.

Isn't it more likely on par with putting
two fingers in a "v" behind someone's head
just as the camera is about to go off?

They know a picture is about to be taken
so not only do they pose for it, but they
do something deliberate for the camera.

I suspect you won't see it without a camera
unless the people are suffering a high level
of togetherness, and likely they want to be
    alone at that point.

It is true, though, that nowadays it's impossible
to go anywhere without seeing a camera being used.
They have become so common, and presumably not
needing film is another factor. So it changes
the landscape. I know my older digital camera
is so slow taking pictures that most of the time,
I end up with posed photos, because people are
aware of the camera, and have plenty of time to
    strike a pose.
