| Premier Levesque stumped for condos |
The combover king was one of the province's longest-serving premiers, Taschereau ruled for 16 years, Duplessis 15, Robert Bourassa 14.5 and Jean Charest, nine and counting.
While still a relatively new premier in 1977, he participated in a weird little fluff piece promoting the Le Royer condo complex at 411 Dizier St in Old Montreal. He was apparently going to live there after his retirement, even divulging the apartment number he'd occupy 301.
It's not known whether he actually ever lived there, it seems rather unlikely but if a premier did such a thing today it would certainly turn some heads and people would be frantically looking up the purchase records and other connections between him and the developer.
The article pointed out that one of the partners in the ownership group was the Bronfman family, "you can be sure he isn't getting any special deal from the Bronfmans," said his rep.
