Montreal's first sidewalk bench - 1962

According to an old newspaper article in the big pile I have here, Montreal's first sidewalk bench was installed at the corner of Union and St. Catherine July 8, 1962 (someone got a picture of that corner?)

They put a garbage pail next to it.

Not sure if it was the first sidewalk garbage pail too.
