Little Genevieve de la Poterie died on 25 January 1972. Her life ended at the age of eight at the Ste. Justine's Hospital due to kidney cancer.
The family left her body with a California company to freeze and revive in case a cure came along, as well as a technique to revive her.
Alas the California company that was supposed to pump liquid nitrogen into their deceased daugter's box wasn't up to the task and the poor little Genevieve de la Poterie's body ended up the worse for wear and there was no chance of bringing her back.
Others attempted to sue the company but de la Poterie declined to do so.
Dad, a pharmaceutical salesman from France is apparently still kicking around town with wife Pierrette, an opera singer.
The first and last non-italians who moved into St-Leonard...
ReplyDeleteIsn't this the family that had their daughter "frozen" because she was dying of cancer and was going to keep her there till a cure was found.
ReplyDeleteI was their neighbour, and Eric's friend. It is still painful to remember seeing Geneviève loosing her battle with cancer and devastating to know that the family was likely the victims of quacks.
