Signs of Spring 2010 by Chimples the brain-implanted Simian. Chimples was inspired by Aussie Whiting who on a gloomy day in March 1969 was instructed by his newspaper to come back with "signs of spring" in Montreal. The award-winning Whiting returned with spring alright, as seen in the photo below.
This is back when newspaper photographers actually left their office to get pictures. I've noticed lately how lazy the Gazette is for getting some pics. Like the file photo of a fire hydrant. You couldn't just run downstairs and actually find one? And the Google Map pic of an accident scene, which shows us what the location looked like last year, or whenever.
