Myth: Dorchester was demolished in the 1950s

In fact most of the great architecture of the 1800s was demolished far earlier, like in the 1930s.
An architect named Thomas built an entire square at Beaver Hall and Dorchester, all of which were beautiful buildings that have since been demolished except this one.

  1. Dandurand was also a co-owner of the Canadiens between 1921 and 1935.

  2. Oh yes - and founded the Alouettes. And despite his name he was born in the U.S.

    The Dandurand house was demolished in the late 1960-early 1970s.
