The real McCord Museum

This magnificent mansion, called Temple Grove was born in 1825 and died, of fire April 4, 1938.    It had been abandoned since David Ross McCord died in 1930.
His father, Judge McCord built it. It was up around Cedar or McGregor and Cote des Neiges. Just west of the General Hospital, where it is now. So anyways, the dad seemed to want it to be the great museum of Montreal. But his son built a great museum on Sherbrooke in 1921. So Temple Grove was the Great Montreal Museum that Never Was.
