Based on 2001 numbers, but it's still pretty indicative that cracking down on crime in Canada is a ridiculous initiative considering the circumstances. In fact a lot of these numbers came during the heat of the biker war, so you know that crime is even lower than it was.
This map shows that east Verdun is as close to a war zone as it gets here. Unlike cities in Western Canada where crime is concentrated in the downtown area, we gets ours in the lower city. I guess if you subtract Alex Hilton's misdeeds it's not such a bad area.

You can see that kids of 18 are big time criminals, they really should just lock them up as a form of prevention.

Your data shows only property and violent crimes; what about drug crimes, white crime, and as you mentioned earlier in the blog crimes such as prostitution..... surely the demographics would look quite different.

ReplyDeleteMost assaults happen within half a km (hello noisy neighbour) but theft is usually done a little further. I don't know if the Verdun stuff shows the victims' or the perps' turf.
