Tyndale Martin pt. 3

Mike Kropveld of Info-Cult supplied this photo of a young Tyndale Martin, now around 67 years old, or what is believed to be Tyndale Martin, leader of Montreal's defunct Greatheart Monastery that existed in Montreal from the early 1970s until around 1990. Some consider him to be the English version of Roch Theriault.
Unlike Theriault, Martin didn't order followers to perform any emergency amateur surgeries but he liked his women and had elaborate rules which they were to follow. His group contained male adherents but they were not allowed to stay in his pad, only his women and children, as we have mentioned. His followers were not bad people and the men participated in nothing unusual as far as we can tell.
Martin fathered 10 children with 17 unofficial wives who would sleep with him one at a time, or two, according to his wishes. There were no displays of affection allowed in his environment, so there was no hugging on the premises. He also banned the colour red for reasons clear only to himself, so kids would have no red crayons in their boxes.
Before starting his cult Martin was in a literature class taught by local cult expert Susan Palmer at McGill. She recalls him wearing a large wooden crucifix around his neck. He always sat next to a conservative looking East Indian woman. Martin is said to be living in Montreal, somewhere around Outremont. His cult is believed to have been fizzled out around 1991 when he was sentenced to six months in prison for fondling two girls three years earlier. We cannot reveal details about his connection to the victims, as they were minors at the time.
I have since been told that one woman who left his cult was named Hedy, a Jewish girl from Chomedy, Laval, who later turned out to become a homeless schizophrenic as last seen about a dozen years ago.
I was also told the name of another one of his "wives" who mothered two of his children. She is a relatively-well known Montreal musician who now lives in the Toronto.
