I'm near my allowable limit for photos so I've got to pick and choose (you might've noticed that some of the older posts have ugly gaps where the photos were, that's because I had to zap a bunch of shots from past posts to keep this going). But this glorious 2-for-1 photo should provide your daily photo fix. Anybody have an idea of what year this was? The station wagon looks vintage 1977.
Your right about that wagon, its a plymouth Volare or its Dodge counterpart the Aspen. Judgin by the other cars, id say your in the ball park between '76 and '79.
ReplyDeleteJudging by both the wagon and the A.E. LePage real estate sign, 1977 seems like a very good guess. This of course was the Disco heyday and Feel Like Dancin' was one of the hot TV shows on CFCF-12; back when local TV was much more than just the news.
ReplyDeleteYou need photo hosting? There are free services around. Don't start cutting up your blog just because Blogger itself has limits.
ReplyDeleteCantcha just host pics on flickr or whatever and link to 'em? It's a shame to be deleting the old ones methinks.
ReplyDeleteFrom the interior point of view, those JBL speakers was outta there in the early 1978 to be replaced by V2's speakers made in Boucherville, Quebec. This is no doubt summer 1977.
ReplyDeleteMC's Douglas coco Leopold and Alain Monpetit from CKFM in da house.
ReplyDeleteThat's a '76 Aspen if I ever saw one. Peabody Sr. drove one too.

I bet that's Guy Lafleur's wagon. He probably stopped by to drop off flyers for his new disco album, on the way to the record release party at Rejeans.

It's Bal en Blanc and it's either 76 or 77. Germaine is to Douglas' left and the bar crew along the left side. You should check out Lime's web page. It was all that.

Ok but how do I go about using another photo hosting site to make images appear in posts? I know I could link to them with text but that's kinda boring. Is there a way to make the image actually appear here?
ReplyDeleteYou can grab embed links from flickr and put the snap in your blog post. Might need flickrpro to do that, though. Flickr pro costs $30-ish a year. I love it. Got almost 40,000 pics up there. Great 'insurance' to keep all your pics safe.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe nobody's mentioned the movie Funkytown yet.
Is Funkytown even available for viewing? I know it was turned down for the TIFF and no one ever seemed to mention it again, including writer Steve Gallucio who posts about 5 status updates everyday on his FB page.
