Sad news about talented and well-loved Montreal singer and musician Christine Atallah who died while performing in St. Jean sur Richelieu just south of Montreal Friday night in a show she was performing with Jim Zeller.
Atallah was 46 and the death came as a horrible shock and surprise. Her band the Bassalindos travelled the world many times. She was particularly well-known in the Lebanese community.

No. But presumably the same cause of death as everybody else, her heart must've stopped. I was curious about the same thing but my source didn't answer my follow up queries.
ReplyDeleteSo far it sounds like she had a migraine since Thursday, and then on stage on Friday, it suddenly got worse and she felt a chest pain and collapsed. Was taken to Montreal General and never revived. Possibly it was a blood clot in the lungs.

Thanks for posting that Leanne. I saw in a French article that she had fallen off a horse a couple of weeks prior and this might've been linked to that.
ReplyDeleteIt was from the horse fall. Most likely a hematoma or aneurism.

ReplyDeleteNo surprise that trauma from her fall seems to have provoked her untimely death. Her case resembles, somewhat, that of Natasha Richardson, who had collided with a tree while skiing.
