Montreal's Man of Bronze

Here's one of Montreal's greatest black peeps:
Phil Edwards, born in Guyana, came to Montreal via New York, was a McGill med student who could run fast enough to bag five bronze medals for Canada in the '28 Amsterdam, '32 Los Angeles & '36 Berlin Olympics.
Edwards became a doctor at the Royal Victoria hospital where he specialized in tropical diseases.
Although he was there at the same time as the infamous Ewan Cameron, they were not actually all that closely associated.
