Point St. Charles to expand in new development

If you're ever heading towards Verdun along Wellington and turn left on Sebastapol you'll find yourself in a strange isolated little area that ends in a dead-end.
If you look through the fence at the dead end you'll see a massive empty piece of land waiting for new buildings.
Well the 33 hectares (3.5 million square feet) is finally getting built, according to this press release,
The development is expected to bring 825 new residential units. About one quarter of those are likely to be subsidized housing, which might seem like a lot but the Point overall has about 50 percent housing of that tax-payer funded variety, so it's not that much.
It will also have an industrial element as well and there could be trains clanging around for those with sensitive ears.
But the big drawback is that with all of the train tracks everywhere it's difficult to build road access towards the Bonaventure Expressway or a shortcut to Bridge St. (and Costco), so it's going to be slightly isolated without an extra way in and out.
Good news, nonetheless, although I would have preferred a baseball stadium there.
