Upcoming skyscrapers on Dorch

Here's some new photos of a bunch of new buildings going up around my old stomping grounds at Dorch and Drummond. A number of condo projects are not just being hyped around that corner, they're actually getting built, including the Icon, the Habs Tower and the others. A salute to the big money guys putting hand in pocket to make this happen, as it'd be just as easy and less risky to leave their cash in the bank earning safe retrusn. Thanks to Jason Z for the pics.

  1. Fuck that’s deep.

That said, all those big condos are nice and well, but they’re gonna suck mightily if there is no large-scale grocery shops around.

  3. It must truly suck to live or work in a building that has sweeping views of the city and to one day have that view obliterated by another building 60 feet away. There is a fairly ew building next to the habs tower that is really getting screwed. I'm sure they thought that the Bell Center would never allow a bg building to be built on that lot. In a few months they may as well wall-off all the windows on the south (Montreal West) side of the building.

  4. Perhaps someone with the know-how could start a Montreal-then-and-now website similar to the following?
