Tony Magi shot

With all the news from Montreal North, the shooting on Cavendish did not get much attention.
According to La Presse, the shooting on Cavendish in NDG yesterday at 6:30 am was thought to be a professional hit on Tony Magi, who is hanging on in hospital.
Magi developed the condos on Upper Lachine Road, amongst other projects.
Those low-cost condos brought heat on real estate agent/NDG borough Mayor Michael Applebaum for being shoddily designed with outdoor electricity poles a wall that juts right next to the sidewalk. I went with a friend to meet with Magi once before the thing was built, hoping he'd be open to making some small changes to the plan but he refused to come out of his office.

The talk around the Somerled and Monkland communities is that he reaped what he sowed, that he got what he had coming and that he should come clean with those that he has messed with or he might be taking a product inspection of the Lafarge Canada line.

Don't we have an urban planning dep't that can assure standards? Back in the Drapeau days they'd knock some sense into him with his loony ideas and a number of projects were altered. It seems like a conflict of interest that this guy who represents the people is also a real estate agent and has the power to "make things happen"

After winter storms, streets where a Royal LePage house is for sale, and particularly those with upcoming open houses, are always the first to be cleared of snow by road crews.

As for the shooting victim, my first thought was road rage cause Cavendish thru ndg is one annoying road to drive. The city stopped painting white lines on the road to separate the 2 lanes and so you have some drivers who allow others to go by them by staying on one side and others who sway all over the road at 28 km/h forcing all behind to go with there flow. Ugh!

  6. Actually, 28km/h is the speed you have to drive at to hit all the green lights from Cote-St-Luc to Sherbrooke. Go any faster and you will hit a red light at every intersection.
