I have seen that bumper sticker a few times, perhaps its the same car each time.
I miss the old Baby On Board sticker, I am convinced that the true aim of that was to curry pity from the police officer and thus lessen the chance of receiving a ticket.
I have seen them also for other schools in the Pearson Board...contract must have gone to a pal of Marcus Tabachnik.
As for John Rennie High...nothing like going to a school named after an old Duplessis bagman in a case of Maurice planting a memorial to his long-time stooge in the heart of the Anglos who didn't support him. It's a wonder that Rene Levesque didn't use that as an example to name any of the West Island schools that might have opened during his years after David Payne...

I once saw this woman on the bus with her son, she was smiling beatifically at him and wore a button on her lapel that said 'I heart being a parent.'
ReplyDeletewhat's next.Bumper stickers that say, "I have a frost free fridge" or "proud parent of a kid who can button his shirt".
I work on the West Island and, sadly, I see these all the time.
ReplyDeleteIsn't John Rennie the school where a student's dad went in and punched out the gym teacher a couple of years back? Think he has one on his ride?
Reminds me of the rage I felt when I saw a Dave Matthews bumper sticker.
ReplyDeleteAs noisome as those personalized licence plates.
ReplyDeleteSmacks of patronism and other buy-your-way-through-life ideals.
'I have my car, and it's tacky endorsements, therefore I AM!'
