At the time, I was freelancing, and got a call from Gazette photo ed. Chris Haney, with the tip on where to stake out Caroline. She was staying with her banker husband's friends at a house above Sherbrooke St., near the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. I waited in my car, with my motorized Nikon camera and 300 mm lens. After about an hour, the door opened and out she came, with a dog on a leash. I got off about 6 frames, before she spotted me and scurried back into the house.
Sold the pic to The Gazette for about 30 bucks. Got a call a few days later from The National Enquirer, and sold them the pic for about $150.
Chris Haney called me a few weeks later, trying to interest me in buying into a trivia game he was developing, called "Trivial Pursuit". I declined. Still regret that decision.
