A chain of French language Quebec newspapers put out a readership survey recently with some interesting results.
56 percent of people on the Plateau consider themselves physically attractive.
Zero percent of people in Nun's Island say they have a heavy smoking addiction.
Residents of the City of St. Laurent consider themselves the most extroverted, as 77 percent of respondents described thesmelvse as such, versus 59 percent of Nun's Islanders, 53% in the Plateau, 50% in Villeray, 46% in Cartierville/Bordeau 43% of those in Montreal North (p.219)
Only 37 % of Montrealers believe in life after death, compared to the 42 % provincial average. Only 23% of those in Nun's Island who believe in the afterlife, compare that to 61% in the Gaspe.
An impressive 65% of people in Rivieres des Praires believe in ghosts, contrast that to 19% in Nun's Island. (p. 253)
Montrealers report having more real friends than other places. The number one place in Quebec for friends is Town of Mount Royal, as readers reported 5.5 friends each. Dragging up the local read was Hochelaga Maisonneuve with 3.3 friends.
The longest lasting couples on the island are found in Rosemount and Lasalle where couples have been together on average for 20 years, compared to 17 in City of St. Laurent and 14 for St. Henri, St. Michel 9, Villeray 8.
82% of Nun's Island readers were in a relationship, compared to just 48 in Hochelaga Maisonneuve. Six shortest relationship averages in montreal.
The Plateau is the leader when it comes to cheating in a relationship, that's where 28 percent say they've done it, versus 27 in Hochelaga Maisonneuve and 17% in Verdun, in Napiervielle Hemmingford only one percent said they've cheated but 15% confess to having had an affair with a work colleague, so that doesn't make much sense. (p.331)
People in the Plateau answered yes more often than anywhere else in the area to the question: do you see yourself having a aby w/in the next 12 months? A full 14% of Plateau denizens answered, yes with Cartierville right behind at 13%, St. Leonard at 6, Montreal North, Ahuntsic, Rosemoutn all at 5% and Nun's Island at 2%.
Nun's Islanders apparentlylike to drink, about 21% confessed to having a moderate alcohol addiction. The provincial leader is a place called Chandler-Pabos which has 27% reporting the same. Outremont had 15% and 14% to this question.
I've waited long enough. Nobody's posted on this story. Gotta fill the empty space...
