This is Balor Moore. He was a lefty promoted to the bigs far too soon because he could toss a ball about 100 mph.
Alas he did not survive big league hitting.
Indeed in 1973 he was having such a horrid year that he was sent back to the minors temporarily and three youngsters were called up, one of them being Steve Rogers, who would go on to become one of teh greatests pitchers ever of his era, and surely the best ever for the Pos.
Rogers had apparently learned to throw a splitter after only ten tries and one-hit the Phils in his debut and then outduelled Steve Carlton in his next game.
