A couple of years ago, a trio of youths were terrorizing Ville St. Pierre, a downhill west end ghetto so badass that terrified Montreal West erected barriers to keep the scary hordes from infiltrating their well-heeled area via Devil's Hill.
We're thinking about Arelene Croxen Gallone (aka
Arlene Gallone) and Michael Gero today.

In 2011, local cops made the unusual - but increasingly usual -
public appeal to ask if Arlene Gallone and her friends, who include Michael Gero, who has now allegedly killed his girlfriend Sherri Thomas in a fit of rage in Nov. 2013, committed more crimes than they were already aware of.

Arlene's crew was eventually found guilty of robbing a 65-year-old delivery man, setting him up with a fake address and then jumping and stabbing him, almost to death.
Gero got a mere two years for the crime.
That apparently failed to modify his behaviour, as he has allegedly now murdered a lovely young woman on Grand Boul. near St. James in a domestic dispute a couple of kilometres west of his original misdeeds.
I bet if you try you can come up with a better excuse for the Montreal West barrier.

ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know if Michael is the father of Keith ? A delightful special needs boy , whom I used to include in my physical activities with my son. Skating at the DOUG Harvey , Con U basketball. His grandparents lived on Randell Ave , but moved to Halifax.
ReplyDeletethere was a pretty cool boxing guy in Montreal named Croxen, killed in an apartment on Monkland in the 1960s. I wrote him up in a book I'm still working on.
