All is not rosy on Valentine's Day

Two unlikely Valentine's revelers spotted on Ontario St. Feb. 13, 2013
A happy Valentine's Day to all Montrealers and may this bring warmth to your heart and fire to your loins.
The day is not for lonely-hearted people, thus one newspaper attempted to use its power to hook up the city's most eligible bachelors 32 years ago, Jean de Brabant married a movie star, while others like Stratton Stevens has remained single (without a heir, to his eternal regret).
Elise Sergerie
And while most things on Valentine's Day are good, there are also some bad, including the quadruple murder in a Brossard bar in 1975, the Violi-Rizzuto gang war was launched on Valentine's Day in 1976 with the murder of Pietro Sciarria, crazy Tak Fu Deer killed his sister at their home in Rosemount in 2002, Earl Fauman and Leona Kelly both rolled into town on a train from Toronto dead from self-inflicted gunshot wounds on Valentine's Day 1949, single mom Elise Sergerie, 18, killed her son, Sylvain, (fathered by Sylvio Noiseux) in Dunham in 1978 and of course Montrealer John Dunning made a horror film called My Bloody Valentine, released on that day in 1981.

  1. Does that double-suicide on the train seem suspicious? She's married to a cop in Toronto, he's a married lawyer in Toronto?

Where was Al Palmer? Did he write anything about this?
