You'll note the downtown location of the Steak & Burger was pretty high rent and it was no little shack.

He ran into a group of 500 young women dancing around and disrupted their show. Police gave him a beatdown and held him overnight. It's said he was charged with a letting-your-dong-hang-out-in-public-related offence.
Kevin Passarella, a Loyola student from New York, claimed to have set the world record for a distance streak, going 500 yards on campus in March 1, 1974. Police followed him back to his apartment. They said they had no objection to him streaking on campus but wouldn't tolerate it on streets.A few days later a couple of Air Traffic Controllers streaked on skates, doing a couple of laps around the Dorval Arena during a company hockey game. A few years ago while in Victoria, B.C. I witnessed a nude cycling group brazenly streaking through a public park which generated much gaping and giggles from children and their parents, especially when a couple of male cyclists deliberately stopped to allow closeup scrutiny by the onlookers.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if such stopping is actually legal, though. I suspect it's more of an excuse to expose oneself for the shock value.

I remember seeing guys streak into Jean Junction on Queen Mary. If you streaked in, you got a free pair of jeans.

The grade 6 variety show at Iona Avenue school had a skit about streaking in 1975.
ReplyDelete966 Ste Catherine West = now Moore's....not to be confused with the Cara-owned Winco Steak 'n Burger with multiple 1970s/80s locations in Toronto. This location later became a L'Habitant Steer Burger, not to be confused with Jimmy Gaspar's Mr. Steer further west on Ste-Catherine.
