Answer: yes we have some bright readers. It is indeed Paul Giamatti yesterday afternoon on Bishop Street hauling some bottled water. The film is slated to shoot in the same spot again today. Apparently Dustin Hoffman and a few other big names are involved in the filming of Robert Lantos's version of the Mordecai Richler novel Barney's Version. Giamatti is clearly playing an older version of Barney than what appeared recently in Rome. Another extra was dressed to what appeared to be an exact replica of Nick Auf der Maur (I'll try to post that photo a bit later).
