Cop biker patrol inspection in Montreal 1958

The photo caption from May 29, 1958 reads: THEY WILL BE "DECORATING" HIGHWAYS Provincial Police Director HILAIRE BEAUREGARD inspects fleet of motorcycles and their drivers who will be patrolling main highways, paying special attention to speeders, reckless drivers and people who pass on hills and curves or cross double while lines. With the director is Capt. I. POIRIER.
Apparently it was taken near Notre Dame near the Main. Nowadays the Quebec Provincial Police does not ride motorcycles as far as we can tell.

  1. In front of the Old Court House, now the Quebec Court of Appeal, where Sylvain Gaudreau attacked the plaintiff in front of the Judge when the case didn't go his way.

From 1933 to 1954, 9 of the 11 SQ officers who died in the line of duty were from motorcycle accidents.
